Housing Stability and Future Planning for Youth Living in Happy-house

Abstract
This study aims to analyze experiences of youth living in Happy-houses in terms of housing stability and future plans. For the purpose, this study used a qualitative case study. Nine young people living in Happy-houses were selected as study samples for in-depth interviews. One of the criteria for sample selection include the number of renewal contracts of Happy-house, considering that the residence period of Happy-house was 6 years. In terms of housing stability, three themes emerged: Wish list of youth, life without worry about home, and target of envy. For future plans, family, job and career, and wealth and assets have been categorized as key themes. Relatively, they were found to have gaps between housing stability in Happy-house and future plans. In addition, the study samples expressed relief in the short term but worries in the future. This study concludes with several policy implications for enhancement of Happy-housing policy.
